Explore New Zealand bush at A H Reed Memorial Park. The 500-year-old trees here stretch high into the sky with most of them standing at 20-30 metres tall. The track will take you up close and personal with these outstanding trees before taking you up among the canopy.
Accessibility
The middle carpark is the most accessible with an accessible parking space and entrance to the bush. The Alexander / McKinnon/ Canopy loop is designed with accessibility in mind. This 300m track is grade one and takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. It is a little steep getting to the pathway but once there the path only has a few gentle inclines as you enter the canopy. The walkway is mostly wooden. While we wouldn’t recommend going alone, this is a wonderful option for those who take someone to assist them on the tricky parts.
