Following on from the success of the Weta Workshop in Wellington, the Weta Workshop crew have created an interactive experience in Auckland, Weta Workshop Unleased. Located in the heart of the Auckland CBD, right next to the Sky Tower.
On entry you will go through the Weta Cave, a cavern of creativity in its own right! Be greeted by giant trolls on arrival, explore a mini-museum and souvenir shop.
The Weta Workshop unleashed experience is a 90 minute immersive film Special Effects (FX) experience including a horror film; fantasy world; and sci-fi adventure in a 90-minute immersive film Special Effects (FX) experience.4
It’s an extraordinary world where the lines between fantasy and reality are blurred.
ACCESSIBLE INFORMATION
Weta Workshop Unleashed is accessible, however they recommend using a wheelchair with brakes, as there are slight inclines and declines throughout the experience. The horror house is not wheelchair accessible, however you are able to take an alternative route to by-pass this part of the tour.
Elevator access is available via Federal Street and Albert Street. All guest parking is located at Skycity’s main site. You’ll find accessibility car parks available on every level, located nearby the elevators.
Individuals who are sensitive to stimuli could experience sensory overload. Unfortunately, lighting changes throughout the experience could trigger those with epilepsy.
