Experience the majesty of Kaikoura’s Giant Sperm whales up close with Whale Watch Kaikoura. With just over 2 hours spent on the water, a typical Whale Watch tour may see visitors encounter more than just the Giant Sperm Whale with New Zealand Fur Seals, Dusky Dolphins and the endangered Wandering Albatross often making an appearance. When not viewing Kaikoura’s marine life, passengers can learn more about the amazing animals they are seeing with an onboard visual presentation, “World of Whales”.
Accessibility
Whale Watch Kaikoura has 4 mobility carparks located close to their booking office with direct access via kerb cut out. The carpark is made out of concrete and is flat. Access into the building is made easy with double doors and a ramp into the building. Inside is an accessible bathroom and powerpoints available to recharge powerchairs if required.
Clients are transferred from the booking office to boat by carry chair, while staff store the client’s chair in a locked shed. Please note, there is a step involved when getting onto the boat. Clients with limited mobility are placed in the front row of the observation seats and the window is kept unobstructed. The captain will endeavor to make sure all wildlife sights are kept to the that side of the ship.
