Christchurch is a city known for its street art, consistently ranking among cities like New York, Barcelona, Berlin and London as one of the street art capitals of the world. Since the 2011 earthquake, local artists have made their mark by filling the city with murals, graffiti art, art works, posters, sculpture and more. Exploring the inner city now reveals an urban jungle full of colourful artworks. Most of the artwork is accessible by the street or footpath but some is not and will require negotiating uneven ground or gravel covered car parks.
